Sacramento Alcohol & Drug Youth System of Care (YSOC) Collaborative
The Sacramento Alcohol & Drug (AOD) Youth System of Care (YSOC) Collaborative began in September 2008 as the YSOC Planning Group. The planning group’s formation was prompted by a planning grant funded by the California Endowment for the purpose of creating a comprehensive Strategic Plan for youth AOD and co-occurring disorders services in Sacramento County. The planning group included AOD and mental health providers, law enforcement, probation, the courts, and various county agencies, and over a period of ten months, the planning group developed and completed a strategic plan in October 2009. With a remaining eight months in the planning grant period, the planning group decided to change its name to the YSOC Collaborative, and use the remaining grant months to maximize members’ existing resources and make the Collaborative a sustainable group that can continue after the end of the grant period. The current focal points of the Collaborative are: bringing in new community partners, building and strengthening relationships between AOD and mental health youth service providers and referring agencies, education and training, and prioritizing implementation elements of its strategic plan. The YSOC Collaborative meets monthly, on the third Tuesday of the month from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. at Strategies for Change in south Sacramento (located at 4343 Williamsbourgh Dr.). The Collaborative welcomes your participation! |
